Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal called"the West Island. The West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar with its meaning. Many people believe that it is an island west of Montreal However, the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is often referred to as her birthplace. But she only stayed there for a short time. Brugel grew to be an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. She initially wanted to be an actor, but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner weren't able to dance with her. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. Once I surpassed my male counterparts, I stopped. Bruce was among the former dancers who turned into acting. Her high school teacher school was what pushed her into the right direction. The teacher suggested she try to find a role in school's annual play. She auditioned and eventually got the lead in Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Brugel's career spans over 20 years and she has performed in more than 60 shows, both on big screens and on smaller ones. Her most notable role was that of Rita (pictured in the below photo) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian of the season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and seen only occasionally, was the only Canadian.
